The Daydreamer Challenge, Day 4: Me, being Helpful?

I like to help people.

Stop laughing, I do! So today’s task is to give blogging tips – click here for more info and to see other people’s tips!

1. Make an effort to read other blogs – even if it’s only a few, or even if it doesn’t get you followers, it’s a great way to meet new people and have awesome conversations.

2. You don’t always have to stick to one type of post: it can be funny one day, serious the next. In fact, it might be best to vary it a bit.

3. If you’ve got a goal for your blog – for instance, writing about cooking – you don’t ALWAYS have to write about that specific subject. You’re not betraying your blog if you stray a little!

4. Don’t feel like you have to write what your readers want to read. Of course, that’s going to factor in somewhere, but your readers should like what you write ANYWAY. If you constantly write what people WANT to read, you’re not writing what YOU want to write, and it takes the enjoyment out of it.

5. It’s not bad if you need to take a break. If you feel pressured, or can’t deal with things, no one’s going to think any worse of you for it. Your readers will understand – and remember, it’s YOUR blog.

6. What you do with your blog is not up to anyone else. It doesn’t matter if you don’t show it to people in real life – it doesn’t matter if you DO. I made the mistake of letting other people control and influence what happens with my blog, which resulted in the deletion of the last one. If it’s positive, great! Reader input makes you feel amazing. When it’s negative, though, it feels horendous.

Very short, but I hope someone got something out of that! 🙂
