The Winners of The 2016 Blogger Awards!

Hello, everyone!

The day has finally come. It’s the 31st December. You know what that means?

I’m here to announce the WINNERS of the 2016 Blogger Awards!!!

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then head on over to this post to find out more, and to get an explanation of how the voting worked.

This year, there were so many nominations from all corners of the blogging world – book bloggers, life bloggers, beauty bloggers, and anybody in between. At one point, I thought I wouldn’t have a winner for some categories, but that’s what I love about it: all kinds of people are appreciated for their talents, and the sheer amount of people that spread love and positivity made hosting this incredibly worthwhile.

I’m sure you don’t want to hear my ramblings, so without further ado, here are the winners of the 2016 Bloggers Awards!

I just want to say that every single person who was nominated is an amazing blogger. I looked at your blogs and I think that you all deserve your nominations, but this is simply based off of how many nominations people got. No one is below anyone else, just because they got less nominations: you’re all such thoughtful people.

Blogger of the year
I don’t understand how this happened, but for some reason… I won this, with 8 nominations. Thank you all so so much; I love you! The fact that you’d nominate me for this category astounds me and makes me smile like an idiot.

Blog of the Year
This was a three-way tie, and each one of these bloggers deserves it. With two nominations each, the winners are…

Dream Big, Dream Often who’s blog is one of the most well put together ones I’ve seen, and whose posts always reach out into the community in order to give advice and opportunities for bloggers from any corner of the blogosphere, which is truly inspiring. The dedication and effort this blogger puts into their site is something to be admired.

Chloe Lauren, somebody who has been in the blogging world for an incredibly long time. Her posts are always well-written, thought-out and inspiring; her blog design is friendly and from the effort she puts in, you can tell that she has spent a long time on making her blog the best it can be for as many people as possible.

Reine, a girl who’s posts are incredibly honest and motivational, who never fails to support her readers through her words and experiences, and who’s blog is one that many people go to for all types of topics, as it is incredibly versatile and has something for everyone.

Kindest Blogger
This was one of the categories with the most bloggers nominated, which just shows how many kind bloggers there are out there. However, the winners – who received 2 nominations each – are…

Allie M, who always treats people with kindness and respect, and who’s Twitter and blog make people feel welcome. She always strives to be as nice to everyone as she can, and is one of the first to say that she’ll be here for someone when they need it, and she shows that through her personality and willingness to chat to anyone.

Luna – one of the best friends you could ever have, and someone who’s always there with a positive post, reaching out to those who need it. Her blog comments showcase how happy she is to listen to everybody and anybody, and she goes out of her way to be kind to others.

Most Approachable Blogger
Again, I won this with 5 nominations, something that’s made me even more happy than Blogger of the Year. I always put myself down as not being approachable enough, or being too generic to talk to, and so for people to think that I’m the opposite of that means the world to me. You’re all fantastic people.

Best New Blogger
Both Leo and Zoey won this with three nominations each, and for good reason. Both of them immediately jumped into blogging, and despite them being “new” bloggers, they’ve integrated themselves into the blogging world and have not been afraid to talk to as many people as possible. Zoey comments on many people’s posts, reaching out to all kinds of people, and Leo settled into writing posts and not caring about the amount of followers they have far easier than, for instance, I did.

Most Positive Blog/Blogger
With three nominations, the amazing Erika Kind is the winner of this category! Her blog posts, from ones about her life to pieces that motivate others, are always filled with happiness and encouragement for others. Not being familiar with her blog before these awards, it was a real pleasure to get to know such a lovely human being through her writing.

Most Helpful Blogger
This was the only category that had no winner; so many people were nominated for this by many different people that nobody was nominated twice. However, I think that this just shows how many helpful bloggers there are out there, which makes me fall in love with this community just that little bit more. I’ll be sure to list all of the people who were nominated for this one, if that’s what you’d like to see.

Best Looking Blog
Yet again, there were three winners for this category, both with two nominations, and from what I can tell both of them are well deserving!
That Bookshelf Bitch has a blog that’s really easy to navigate, and it’s laid out brilliantly. Also, she has one of the best about pages I’ve read. Ever.
Elly, according to many people, has a fantastic header and great blog design in general. I’m sorry I can’t be more specific, but I’m going on what people have said because I literally can’t see the blogs…_
Mahriya from My Bookish Life who not only has a wonderfully designed blog herself, but eas also designed other people’s blogs extremely well. That just proves that she is a fantastic designer and has a real eye for making a blog look amazing.

Most Relatable Blog
The winners of this category both received 3 nominations, and I very much agree with this: their posts are always lovely to read, not least because there’s something that applies to everyone. Congratulations to:
Ritu who is one of the kindest people I know – being a mother and wife means that she can relate to many, and has experienced many things in her life that she writes about with ease.
And Azura Skye, who writes about her experiences of being a teenager and always manages to capture her emotions in such a way that anyone – regardless of age – could find that they have felt the same way as her. Sharing her life with the Internet has helped a lot of people – including me – realise that they aren’t alone.

Most Creative Blogger
It wasn’t a surprise to me that Anthony won this award, with 5 nominations. His creativity, when he came up with the idea of Blogwarts, shows his originality and how he’s not afraid to adapt his work and shape it for the blogging world. His ideas are some of the most inventive I’ve seen in my nearly 2 years of being here. Congrats, Anthony!

Funniest Blogger
Resoundingly, with nine nominations – the most nominations a blogger received this year – the winner for this category is L and even without knowing him, it’s clear to see why. His posts are always filled with humour, from strange phrases to his ability to sound sassy even in writing, and his twitter is similar. Many bloggers I know applaud L as an incredibly funny person, and he can bring a laugh forth from most any situation.

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted nominations; I loved reading your posts! Compiling the list of people who got nominated took such a long time, but it let me discover new blogs and reacquaint myself with old ones.

Congratulations to everyone that won! You all deserve it.

Next year, I’m going to be passing on the hosting of this award to somebody else, as I think it’s nice to have different people hosting it every year. Ambi started this version, I carried it on and I want others to do the same. To transfer the torch, if you will.

If you’re especially interested in hosting it next year, then do let me know, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for someone who’s very active and friendly in the community closer to the time – which means I’ll still be blogging this time next year!

Thanks again, Ambi, for letting me host this; it means the world. It was a real honour to get to see so much happiness and appreciation for everyone, and I loved being part of it.

Love from Elm ๐Ÿ™‚
