Hey everyone!
Though my name’s not actually Elm, I use it on this blog and it’s now become something that means so much more to me than a simple name. It’s part of my identity and it’s a place to go when things get out of hand. If there’s a horrible situation I’m experiencing, I step into my Elm persona and think, “I can do this. What would my blogging friends say?”
I’m 18 and I come from rainy old England. Also, I’m almost completely blind with very little useful sight and if you’ve got any questions about that then please feel free to ask (I don’t get offended unless you threaten to poke my eyes out, so don’t do that).
I’m a self-proclaimed ‘rebel’, even if the most rebellious thing I’ve ever done is tell a teacher that I forgot to print off my homework. Occasionally, I come out with a phrase that some people think is vaguely funny, though I don’t quite understand how. If you’re anything like me, this will be one of the first things you’ll read if you come to my blog so I want it to represent me. Really, though, how can something so small represent the intricacies of an entire Elm?
I love to read, write, sing, talk to friends and blog. That’s a given, isn’t it? If I didn’t like blogging, I’d pretty much despair for the entire human race – er, I mean, just me. Reading my posts will give you a much better idea of who I am, through my ups and downs, anger and confusion and bursts of laughter. From posts about my so-called ‘love life’, to apparently inspirational pieces that I hope can help someone, I pretty much write on any topic I feel is necessary to my blog. To know a person, you need to know the good and bad.
One thing I will always say is that I’m going to be here for everyone and anyone, as much as I can. You all deserve to have a voice and to rant about what’s bothering you; if I’m the person that helps you to do that, it makes my day. However, remember that there are so many people here to help you – in the Blogosphere, in real life and anywhere else. You’ll never be alone and there’s always going to be people here to pick you up when you fall. It’s what a blog can be for, after all.
If there’s anything you want to talk about, you can email me or visit my contact page. My skype’s always open for a chat and I don’t want you to think I’m unreachable.
Just for a laugh, I’m going to link to my first ever post so that you can all cringe at what a moron I was – am? Seriously though, my writing style and general attitude has changed immensely and you can just see that through my very early posts compared to my later ones.
If you really want to cee part of my past, my blog before this one can be found here. I hardly ever go by Gemma any more, yet it’s a strain of who I was that I can never forget. Unfortunately, all of the posts have been deleted except some that I posted after the end of this blog because I pretty much threw a tantrum and got rid of them. You can read about why it got deleted to get a better idea of the entire situation, even if it was a long time ago.
Names can be confusing things, and so I’ve compiled a list of the ones I use, which can be found on this page. Honestly I get mixed up as to who’s who, so I can completely understand if you ask yourself, “Who the hell is Wren, then?”
I’m just one girl, in one country on one planet, but I want to let people know that whatever happens, I’ll still be Elm.

Oh, thank you so much! I love that blog – and I’m glad you like mine 🙂 XX
Wow. Who are you really? I’ve never been this addicted or in love with anyone’s words except best selling authors, ofcourse. YOU ARE AMAZING,ELM. TRULY. I would love to get in touch with you because, in whatever way my interests may differ, words never cease to attract me. And you are the one with words. I just completely LOVE the way you keep talking and the way you describe various emotions in your own beautiful way.I discovered your page only recently, and I like it so much as to keep saving all your posts. Lol. Maybe I’m dragging or something, but my fingers don’t seem to stop and I think it wud be great if we get chance to converse, someday. So long, then.
AAAHHH!!! Sorry, I just got overly excited because your words are just so so nice! It makes me unbelievably happy that you liked my blog, that you like the way I express myself, because it’s one of the things I feel like I have control over in my life. I’d love to get in contact with you to: you can email me at any time, or follow me and message me on Twitter! It can all be found on my contact page 🙂 I haven’t been reaching out to as many people recently, and I want to change that, and your words on my page have inspired me to do that
Hi Elm, I so love your blog and your way with words, I wish I could blog like you do but alas I’m not that into sharing my entire personal life online ( And to be honest my life is pretty boring ) and I tend to ramble alot.
Hopefully ” my way with words ” will get better as I’m studying English for the next 3 years, I was wondering if you have any tips for writing better and really expressing how you feel through the keyboard?
I was also wondering if you had any tips on how to incorparate just a little bit of my personal life into my normal DIY, Recipe, Beauty ect. type posts?
I hope you have a wonderful week 🙂
– Egypt
Hey Egypt! It’s great to hear from you 🙂
What I’d definitely say is, tell your readers about a time when you used the thing that you’re making, or why you specifically find it useful – it gives your blog a touch of personal thought, you’re writing style is great already. It will improve, as mine will – as everyone’s will. Just remember that your writing is uniquely yours XX
Thank you soo much Elm 😊 xx
You’re more than welcome! XX
And of course if you need any more help, let me know XX

Ah yes! The “here’s a link to my blog” commenters. I never know how to respond together those 😅
I usually just go “Sure!” And only follow it if I’m interested. I never write those kinds of comments to people because I just find it awkward sometimes receiving them myself because I just don’t know what to do!
Ah that really stupid moment my phone decides to spell check for me… 😛
Aaargh I hate it when it does that!
